My journey in radio, so far?
Straight out of uni I started at 4AK/4WK in Toowoomba writing and producing commercials.
I then got a job in the newsroom at i98fm in Wollongong, to be closer to my now-husband who lived in Sydney.
Worked for just over a year at 2GB/2CH in Sydney before making the move back to Queensland.
After a lot of pestering phone calls Hot Tomato finally gave me a full-time job in the newsroom.
The best thing about the Coast
The friends I've made here! My close work collegues are the most amazing group of people. And it's just a short drive to visit family in Toowoomba.
What's the highlight of your career so far?
Would have to be reading a news bulletin announcing our country's first female PM (despite what happened for her to get there).
My perfect day off
A morning yoga class, bbq lunch with friends, afternoon walk with my husband and dog and then a good movie.
My likes/dislikes
Likes: I have a thirst for all things pop culture - love good TV shows (Friends, Modern Family), movies (The Notebook, The Color Purple, Pretty Woman) and music (Matchbox Twenty, Guy Sebastian, Motown classics)
Dislikes: Can't stand the smell or taste of coffee, also really don't like corriander and people who don't enjoy life. |
